Millenium Bio-energia, Brazil (MBB) Total Flex innovation in ethanol production. The optimization allows sugarcane and corn industrial units to use a single structure that encompasses the corporate part, maintenance, distillery, cogeneration, storage, tanking, waste use, labor and logistics.

Total Flex is an operating model, a production unit that extracts ethanol and co-products from corn is incorporated into the sugarcane ethanol plant and is capable of operating year-round. Even though the sugarcane and corn production processes are different, they can be in the same location, sharing the same tanks, cogeneration, operations, maintenance and labor, increasing the plant’s profitability and characterizing the Full Flex designation.

This system produces several co-products from the same raw material: ethanol, DDGS, sugar, bio-oil and CO2. In addition to making ethanol production economically viable, the products produced by this operating model represent a positive gain for the entire governance structure, the environment and society, because it reduces costs, reduces the number of gas emissions and does not compromise product quality. DDGS (Dried Distillers Grains and Solubles), for example, a co-product used as feed for confined animals (cattle, pigs, chickens and fish farming), has a high market value and a significantly competitive price within this operating system.

Overall, adopting a Total Flex operating structure is a very smart one. Firstly, due to the expectations and profitability possibilities present in corn; secondly, because attention to environmental impacts is a fundamental point for a company today, in addition to becoming an attractive investment that boosts the national and local economy. The countless production possibilities and new products within Total Flex are what consolidate an innovative model and an agribusiness structure that goes far beyond conventional production methods. It is about developing the sector responsibly, and for a more sustainable and profitable future at the same time. MBB has completed the Ethanol Projects in Brazil, Australia ans other countries.
