180 MW Electricity with Natural Gas Based Power generation. Modules as twin package of 60 MW of power are designed to provide quick reliable power. These factory-assembled modules allow the power plant to generate power in less than 30 days after arriving on site.
  • Best-in-class part-load efficiency
  • Reduced site setup time
  • Reduced field flushing
  • Minimal field wiring terminations utilising quick-disconnect cables
  • Prefabricated piping needs no field welding
  • Less site labor
  • Standard and repeatable installation process
  • Preassembled and tested
  • Reduced field inventory
  • Ease of engine checkout and maintenance
  • Operating flexibility
  • Ease of transportation and relocation
180 MWe requires 3000 m2 of Land . Needs connection with natural gas and limited water. Waste heat useful for steam turbine or Cheng cycle application.
Installation can be on DBOO basis ( design, build, own and operate).Sales price of electricity is between 60 and 120 $US per MWe depending the market price of natural Gas.

CALA CASA SL appoints PRATT & WHITNEY POWER SYSTEMS (PWPS)

CALA CASA is a SPANISH-based company , a Designer and Promotor for Energy and Seawater Desalination solutions collaborating closely with experts in the fields of research, design, technology and construction management. The firm was founded in 1989.

Our company CALA CASA is linked with PW Power Systems which is a world leader in developing and manufacturing energy solutions for power generation and offers products for aero-derivative and industrial gas turbines. PWPS has more than 2,000 industrial gas turbines installed in over 50 countries worldwide, and prides itself on being superior in the gas turbine repair and overhaul sector. The PWPS™ gas turbine engine portfolio offers competitive, efficient and flexible products at 30 to 140 megawatts of power.

Pratt & Whitney Power Systems offers also a wide spectrum of Organic Rankine Cycle products ranging in power output from 250 kW to 10 MW of renewable power. PWPS’ ORC systems use a closed-loop thermodynamic process that converts low to moderate-temperature hot resources into efficient and reliable electric power. These systems are driven by a simple evaporation process and are entirely enclosed, producing no emissions.

Pratt & Whitney Power Systems and its subsidiary Turboden have experience and installations in ORC Waste Heat to Power applications throughout the world, including bottom cycling on gas turbines, reciprocating engine exhaust and jacket water heat recovery, and heat recovery from municipal waste and biomass incineration.

Pratt & Whitney Power Systems’ FT8 fleet to surpass 1 million operating hours

Pratt & Whitney Power Systems (PWPS) has reached a major milestone as its FT8 fleet of industrial engines achieves one million hours of worldwide operation. The first FT8 gas turbine was installed in June 1991 and the fleet has grown worldwide in power generation, mechanical drive and marine applications. Power Systems also supports more than 1000 FT4’s that have been in operation for 30 years. The FT8 is service-proven technology and depend on to deliver exceptional reliability and efficiency. The FT8 engine is packaged in two configurations, the PowerPac (27.5 MW from one FT8) and the TwinPac (55 MW from two FT8’s).

The FT8 operates on natural gas and/or liquid fuel and is available in water injected and dry low NOx models, both of which meet strict emissions requirements. The FT8 is a derivative of the JT8D, the most widely used jet engine in aviation history. One of the most fuel-efficient gas turbines of any size at 39% efficiency, the FT8 offers superior performance in the 25-60 MW range.

PWPS launched the FT8 Plus and the FT8 mobile power series. The FT8 Plus provides a 15% power increase from the current FT8 model. The mobile units, the SwiftPac 25, a 25 MW trailer mounted unit and the SwiftPac 50, a 50 MW transportable unit, are the newest in the FT8 product line.

SGIP - California Self Generation Incentive ProgramPratt & Whitney Power Systems (PWPS), a world leader in Organic Rankine Cycle solutions for waste heat, biomass, geothermal and solar thermal power applications, announced today that its broad offering of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) turbogenerators are eligible for the California Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP).
Sonelgaz ALGERIAPratt & Whitney Power Systems (PWPS) supplies eighteen FT8® MOBILEPAC® self-contained gas turbine-powered electric generating units for a number of locations in Algeria. Sonelgaz is a state-owned entity that is responsible for electricity and gas distribution throughout Algeria. The MOBILEPAC unit uses Pratt & Whitney Power Systems' proven FT8 engine, providing excellent performance and a high efficiency rate. Benefits of the MOBILEPAC include fast installation, remote monitoring, easy maintenance, dual fuel capability, black start ability and transportability by road, sea, or air.
Denizli ,Izmir TURKEYPratt & Whitney Power Systems (PWPS) is breaking into the Turkish renewable energy market with the sale of three modular PURECYCLE® Organic Rankine Cycle units with the capacity to generate up to 780 kW of net geothermal power. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company. Pratt & Whitney Power Systems offers a spectrum of ORC products ranging in nominal output power from about 280 kW to about 10 MW of renewable power.
ibiza SPAINPratt & Whitney Power Systems, Inc., a United Technologies Corp. company (NYSE: UTX), signed an agreement with Gas y Electricidad Generacion, a subsidiary company of Endesa Generacion, to provide two 30-megawatt FT8® gas turbines -- one POWERPAC and one SWIFTPAC -- to be located in Ibiza, Spain.
Anson Lilesville USASix (6) Pratt & Whitney Power Systems FT8 SwiftPacs. Completion date
May 2007.Each Pratt & Whitney FT-8 Swift-Pac™ combustion turbine unit is comprised of two turbines that will operate in simple-cycle mode. The FT-8 Swift PacTM is a unique technology with a gas turbine at each end of a double-ended electric generator. Because both turbines do not have to operate
simultaneously, the configuration allows for greater generation efficiency during partial load usage. Emissions from each turbine will be vented through 60-foot exhaust stacks.
